Marian Council 3914 Knights of Columbus
Marian Council 3914 originated in 1954 with a group of Riverton
Area Catholic men, mostly from the St. James Parish.  Located at
335 South 4th Street in Riverton, IL, the Riverton Columbus Club is
also the home of the Marian Banquet Hall.
The council has grown from the original 25 charter members 64
years ago to become a mainstay of the local community.  Christmas,
Easter, Fourth of July and Halloween events are held annually, as
are numerous pasta diners and pancake breakfasts.  People count
on it for it’s First-Friday-of-the-Month Fish Fries held September
through Lent.  The hall hosts community and church events, scout
meetings, local elections, and many fundraisers and benefits.  It has
also become known as one of the best places to host a wedding
reception, not only because of its reasonable rates but also because
members go out of their way to accommodate special requests.
The original Knights of Columbus building was located on 3rd
Street, at the area that is now the entrance to Wheeland Park. As
they outgrew that building a new facility was built in 1976.  Then, in
1985, an addition to the west was added to house the members’
area.
Location
Located at 335 South 4th St. in Riverton, the hall is just ½ block off
Old 36 and five minutes from Springfield.
